It's been a while since I updated my blog. The past few weeks have been a little crazy.
When I was studying for my diploma, Covid prevented us from holding a major student exhibition at the High Court of Australia. Because we missed out, we were invited to participate in this year's exhibition. I had some traditional work that I was interested in showing, but I've been experimenting with Liquid Light and cyanotypes, and wanted to show some of this work because it's what is taking my attention at the moment. Unfortunately many of my experiments have been unsuccessful. Trying to get things right with alternative printing methods is a challenge, and I was creating work until almost the last minute (final printing finished on Sunday for hanging the following Thursday). In amongst all this, I needed a Plan B, and even a Plan C, because there was the chance I might not successfully produce anything!
The good news is I was able to go with plan A, which is a combination of some alternative printing work and four more traditional images. I've included the traditional work here. I haven't had a chance to scan the other work.
For people who are in Canberra, or coming to Canberra, the exhibition, which includes some fabulous work by this year's Cert IV students and some Diploma graduates from last year and the year before, is open during the public opening hours of the High Court until about the 7th of December. It's free, so please drop by and have a look. It's a great exhibition.
Anyway, here are the four shots I took in the Snowy Mountains earlier this year that I've framed and included in the exhibition.
